  • The Chattery

    The Chattery enables those in Formby an opportunity to socialise, and form friendships and bonds within the parish community of Our Lady of Compassion.

     

    It is open each Wednesday afternoon in the lounges of the Gild Hall from 2pm to 3.30pm.

     

    Teas, coffees and refreshments are served with a nominal charge which includes a weekly raffle prize.

    As well as meeting friends and parishioners for a catch up, a proportion of the time also includes short talks

    by invited guests, special afternoon teas, bring & buy sales, book exchanges, quizzes, and other activities.

    The Chattery will re-open again this coming Wednesday, 1st November, 2pm to 3.30pm, after the break last week for the mid-term holiday.

     

    Sincere thanks are extended to all those who so generously give of their free time for this well appreciated parish community activity each and every week. Special thanks to all those who come along in such great numbers giving much support to the wide variety of activities that take place. Many new friendships have been formed through these gatherings and the parish community thrives and grows greatly as a result.

     

    This week The Chattery welcomes Bernie Sumner, an "Exercise Practitioner", who will be talking about the advantages and importance of daily exercise and staying fit. She will demonstrate how a lot of exercise can be undertaken by just sitting in a chair.
