    Imagine Formby is a passionate, volunteer-led Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to making Formby a demonstrably healthier, happier, and more environmentally friendly place to live, work, and visit.

    We achieve this by deeply engaging with the Formby community through consultations and powerful collaborations with local organisations, clubs, and societies. Our mission is to implement meaningful projects that enhance life across Formby, Merseyside.

  • Formby Heritage Centre and The Attic

    Historic Alley. 16 Chapel Lane, Formby, L37 4DU (Above Woodwards)

    Local history enthusiasts will be delighted to discover the Formby Heritage Centre. This captivating space, meticulously curated by the Formby Civic Society, showcases a wealth of historical artifacts, photographs, documents, and maps. Previously it was a underutilized attic above Woodwards Wine Bar, but Formby Heritage Centre's transformation was made possible through the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Formby Parish Council, and local wards.

     

    A Journey Through Time

    After 18 months of hard work, Formby Heritage Centre was launched October 2023 and offers visitors a chance to delve into the town's fascinating past. The Centre is open every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, welcoming history buffs who consistently praise the engaging exhibits and inviting atmosphere. The Centre caters to both individual visitors and pre-arranged group tours for organizations such as U3A, Scouts, and Cubs, providing a unique educational experience.

    The Formby Heritage Centre isn't just about history - The Attic space also serves as a vibrant hub for the arts.

    This year, they've hosted creative writing and screenwriting courses, book launches, film appreciation nights, ukulele lessons, and even yarn bombing meetings. To further cultivate this artistic spirit in the village, they're planning book clubs, poetry evenings, and more.
